But how do you decide what to cook? For me, it will depend on two important factors. The first being the people that you are preparing the meal for. Some may like it hot and spicy while others may like something light. You have to balance the needs of different people. Sometime, you need to strike a compromise and get them to agree on the type of meal you will be preparing for them.
The second factor is the ingredients and food that I have on hand. There is no point telling your guest you would prepare chicken rice for them if you do not have chicken meat at all. I may have to improvise and make last minute changes to replace some ingredients.
Sometime, managing a project is just like preparing a meal. You have many stakeholders and players. All have different needs and issues. You have to strike a balance and get all of the stakeholders and players to compromise. You are also limited by your resources. Resources include manpower, time, equipment etc. You have to be prepared to make changes and maximise whatever you have to complete your project.
Most of all, when you prepare a meal, it is an enjoyable experience. Doing a project should be just like preparing a meal - something that you enjoy. Do you?
