Introduction to Programming with Java: A Problem Solving ApproachBBC on 13 October 2009 published an interesting article.  It seem that using social networking websites in education can generate some positive results.

Some colleges have been using Facebook Pages to give assignments to students and provide added assistant to students in better understanding the subjects.

Wonder if this will be useful for programming courses?  Your views?

One good way of improving the programming skills of students can be that there are short "status updates" posted onto the wall of students which serves as a refresher of class related content.

I thought of creating groups for students to participate and join for each class, however this will mean that students must have a facebook account.
